Orthodontic Experience
Dr. Kanani was born and raised in Vancouver. He received a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Physiology from McGill University and a Masters of Science (M.Sc) from the London School of Economics in England. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D.) and also completed his Masters in Education degree (MS.Ed) at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Kanani graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with a Masters of Science degree in Orthodontics (MS.Ortho) and a Specialty Certification in Orthodontics (Cert.Ortho).
In 2006, Dr. Kanani started his orthodontics career at Guildford Orthodontic Centre in Surrey; subsequently, in 2010, he founded Langley Orthodontics, serving the Langley and area community. In 2009 he co-founded locations in Coquitlam and Maple Ridge which now go by myORTHODONTIST Coquitlam and myORTHODONTIST Maple Ridge.
Over the past almost 20 years, Dr. Kanani has treated many thousands of patients and well over 5,000 Invisalign patients throughout the Greater Vancouver and Lower Mainland of BC, helping them to achieve the smile of their dreams. He was recently recognized by the CEO of Align Technology, the parent company of Invisalign, for this achievement.
His speciality is in supporting cases requiring complex orthodontics care, including braces, Invisalign, and airway orthodontics. He serves as a mentor to other orthodontists as well as over 100 general dentists.
Supporting The Education of BC Dentists
As a lifelong learner and a staunch believer in the importance of continuing education, Dr. Kanani leads study groups in support of continuing education for peer dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and orthodontists.
He has also previously taught clinical orthodontics to third and fourth year dental students at the University of British Columbia (U.B.C.) Faculty of Dentistry. He is currently a session instructor in Orthodontics at CDI College.

In addition to his orthodontic practice, as the Head of Philanthropy and Community Services, Dr. Kanani is an avid supporter of the communities served by our practices. His philanthropic contributions target a range of community initiatives, often serving children and the underprivileged.
